The Oyo State Rural Electrification Board came into being under the Oyo State Edict No7 of April, 1997 as amended in September 1999 as a corporate body with perpetual succession and a common seal to basically provide related services to both urban and rural areas of the state.
To empower the rural dwellers through the provision of electricity, thereby improving the socio-economic well-being of the people and reducing rural-urban drift.
To provide a concrete base for the provision of electricity in the rural and urban areas of Oyo State.
To provide electricity in the rural areas and improve the level of supply in the urban centers and provide a pivot of solutions to problems created by non-availability and availability of electricity in the rural and urban areas of Oyo State.
